Notre Dame C.S.S.Structure
  • Semester School - Courses offered on a half-year
    basis
  • Generally, 8 subjects in two blocks
    - 4 subjects from September to January
    -
    Another 4 subjects from February to June
  • The 4 subjects are taken daily for the semester
  • 4 period day, each period length is 75 minutes.

Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test
  • Students take a Literacy Test in Grade 10

  • on first attempt
  • Remedial help will be available
  • Student must retake test until standard is met

Locally Developed C.C.(Essential)
  • The grade 09 and grade 10 locally developed
    compulsory credit (LDCC) courses have been
    designed to meet the educational needs of
    students whose skills in reading, writing,
    mathematics and science fall within the grade 4 -
    7 range. 
  • In order to develop these essential skills, the
    Ministry of Education has approved the use of 
    locally developed compulsory credit courses in
    English, mathematics, and science. 
  • Below level 1 achievement
  • 49 or less.

  • Students will be able to move from APPLIED
    courses in Grade 9 to ACADEMIC courses.
  • Students will be able to move from ACADEMIC
    courses in Grade 9 courses to APPLIED courses in
    Grade 10
