Patients and methods

• Period 1999-2003
• 126 boys op w TIP. 48 did uroflowmetry after 1
  year and 6 years (Md, range 3-10).
• 10 proximal and 38 distal hypospadias.
• 11 had obstructive symptoms resulting in
  meatotomy or dilatation.
• 37 no symptoms, no intervention.

Results

• Increased flow levels in 50 of the 37 boys
  without symptoms.
• No change in 31.
• Decrease in 19, but only in 3 boys (8) to
  obstructive levels (Toguri normogram).
• NO SYMPTOMS.

Conclusion

• There is spontaneous improvement in 1/3 of the
  boys with low flows in this study.
• Long term follow-up is important since
  obstruction may develop late.
