  • Coca Cola view sport as a way of gaining access
    to their customers.
  • Wimbledon tennis championships any drink that a
    performer has must be in a Coca Cola
    glass/bottle/cup regardless of what they are
    actually drinking!

    was almost rebuilt by Coca Cola including roads,
    homes, hotels and parks just so they would be the
    major sponsor.

  • The broadsheets (The Guardian, The Times) tend to
    cover and analyse sport in more depth and offer
    a greater variety of sports.

  • Tend to be unbiased sports reporting without any
    influence of sponsors or advertising.
  • Relatively cheap to use.

Various channels cover a wide range of
sports. Help to make stars. Raised
performers incomes.
  • Has adapted some sports in order to make them
    more exciting and watchable. Eg. Wimbledon,
    Rugby League, 20/20 cricket.
  • Popular channels still discriminate against
    women in sport between 0.5 - 6 of total
    sports coverage is based on womens sport.
