7- Grooming by adults with a sexual interest in
children - Online communities are now seen as acceptable
ways of meeting friends / partners - Diverse areas for communication
- Offenders manipulating their environment
8Definition of Grooming A course of conduct
enacted by a suspected paedophile, which would
give a reasonable person cause for concern that
any meeting with a child arising from the conduct
would be for unlawful purposes. (Sexual Offences
Act 2003)
9- Behaviour by child / young person which puts them
at risk of abuse - Children exploring their sexuality online,
actively seeking relationships with adults /
older children. Not aware that their online
behaviour has offline consequences. - - More young people meeting with cyber friends
