Welcome!

• Main focus of this meeting is to discuss tools
  needed to design the detectors and analyze the
  data at a future Linear Collider.
• Meeting is intended to provide a forum for the
  exchange of ideas.
• Goal is to enable the community to undertake
  analyses limited only by your imagination.

Meeting Structure

• Formal presentations in the mornings followed by
  hands-on experiences in the afternoons.
• Demos, tutorials, help-sessions.
• Many tools are in early stage of release.
• Encourage feedback!
• Tell us what works, what doesnt work, whats
  missing.
• Flexible schedule, time to work.

Frameworks

• Geant4 will be the detector response simulation
  kernel.
• Discuss a common LC framework for detector
  description.
• Support both Java (JAShep.lcd) and C (LCDRoot)
  reconstruction and analysis frameworks.
• Discuss reconstruction output data content and
  formats.

• Aim to have canonical samples of Standard Model
  processes available on server.
