Why do we use Map Symbols?

• We need to know where features are on a map e.g.
  churches, schools etc
• Drawing each one on would make the map
  overcrowded and messy
• Map symbols are small and efficient ways of
  showing us where things are

• Use the key from your map to draw accurately 20
  map symbols (in colour) in your exercise books
