HOW MUCH OF GRANT 31a SHOULD BE ALLOCATED TO
HANDS ON SUPPORT?

• The national priorities (in no particular order)
  for grant 31a are
• Achieving and maintaining the 2004 targets for
  computer pupil ratios of 18 in Primary and 15
  in Secondary
• Delivery of whole school networks including
  caching services where practicable to host
  digital learning resources
• Progressively equipping more teaching areas with
  interactive whiteboards and/or digital projection
  facilities
• Providing more teachers with personal access to
  laptops to allow flexible working inside and
  outside the school environment. Our target
  nationally is that two thirds of teachers have
  personal access to laptops by 2006
