Han Meilin (China, 1936) Day Sun Farming -
Shungeng Park Shangyu, Zhejiang This "Shun Geng
Group Sculpture" comes from the handwriting of
the art master Han Meilin. Because of the huge
scale, more than 10,000 tons of granite rubble
was used in the production. It was divided into
1251 pieces and finished in Hebei. Finally, it
was transported from Hebei to Shangyu. At that
time, it took more than 50 30-ton large trucks to
complete the transport. This amount of work is
really not easy, and it is rare in China.

In the legend, the famous city Tangshan is the
habitat of the phoenix, so it is known as the
Phoenix City. In 1976, the Tangshan Earthquake
that shocked the world occurred. The entire city
was razed to the ground and 240,000 people were
killed. It is known as the largest disaster ever
caused by an earthquake. Thirty-four years have
passed, and the indomitable people of Tangshan
have rebuilt a new home on the ruins, rebirth
from Nirvana just like the legendary phoenix.
They healed the wounds that history had brought
to the city with a fearless spirit. Mr. Han
Meilin, the master of art, created a huge
sculpture "Danfeng Chaoyang" with far-reaching
significance for this reborn city with magical
vitality.
