What is Gallbladder Cancer
Gallbladder cancer often doesnt show any signs
or problems in the beginning. It usually becomes
noticeable when the cancer has grown a lot or has
spread. However, sometimes there are early signs

Abdominal (belly) Pain
People with gallbladder cancer commonly
experience abdominal (belly) pain, typically
located in the upper right part of the
belly. Nausea and/or vomiting Vomiting is

with gallbladder cancer.

Jaundice
If the cancer in the gallbladder grows really big
and blocks the tubes that carry a yellowish
liquid (bile) from your liver to your stomach, it
can create a yellowish substance called
bilirubin. This bilirubin builds up in your blood
and can spread to different parts of your body.
This buildup of bilirubin is what causes the
yellow color you see in jaundice, which is often
noticeable in your skin and the white part of
your eyes.

Lump in the Belly
When the cancer blocks the tubes that carry bile,
the gallbladder can get bigger. Sometimes, the
cancer can also spread to parts of the liver
close by. Doctors might be able to feel these
changes as lumps on the right side of the belly,
and they can be seen on pictures taken by
machines like ultrasound.

Other Symptoms

• Loss of appetite
• Losing weight without trying
• Swelling in the belly
• Having a fever
• Skin feeling itchy
• Urine turning dark
• Stools becoming light-coloured or greasy
