ABOUT OUR COMPANY AND PRODUCT A melt flow index
(MFI) tester is a device used to determine the
melt flow rate (MFR) or melt mass flow rate (MVR)
of a polymer. It measures the rate at which
molten polymer flows through a capillary under a
specific pressure and temperature. The MFR or
MVR is an important parameter that helps
to characterize the flow behavior of the polymer
and is often used as a quality control parameter
in the plastics industry. The MFI tester
consists of a temperature- controlled barrel, a
piston, and a capillary die with a specified
diameter and length. The polymer sample is
loaded into the barrel, heated to a
specified temperature, and subjected to a
specific load. The molten polymer is extruded
through the capillary die, and the rate of flow
is measured in grams per ten minutes (g/10 min)
for MFR or cubic centimeters per ten minutes
(cc/10 min) for MVR.
