Article Title The Dos and Donts of De-icing
your windshield Article Summary We all know
that feeling when we wake up to a cold, frosty
windshield. It's annoying, and it can make
getting to work or school a real pain. But there
are some simple dos and donts for defrosting
your windshield, and today we're going to share
them with you! Keep reading to find out how you
can avoid what you can do to get rid of that ice
buildup. Article Body - No one likes getting into
a cold car, especially when the windshield is
iced over. It's a pain to have to scrape off all
that ice, and it's even worse when you're in a
hurry and don't have time to do it properly. Here
are a few tips to help you de-ice your windshield
quickly and easily. When it comes to defrosting
your windshield, there are some things you should
and shouldnt do. Do Invest in a good ice
scraper A flimsy ice scraper is only going to
make the job more difficult. You want an ice
scraper that's sturdy and can handle the job
quickly. A good ice scraper will also have a
brush on one side to help you clear away
snow. Park in a heated garage If you have one,
use it! park your car in there overnight so that
the ice will melt off easily in the
morning. Cover your windshield Cover your
windshield with something like a towel or blanket
when you arent using your vehicle. If you
struggle with ice on your windshield
consistently, consider buying a magnetic
windshield cover. Use deicer spray a popular
method is to use a solution of 2/3 cup rubbing
alcohol and 1/3 cup water in a spray
bottle. Defrost from the inside out start your
car and turn the temperature to the warmest
setting available. Then, select the "defrost"
mode for both the front and rear windshields and
turn on the blower fan to the highest
setting. Invest in a remote starter set your
vehicles system for the best defrosting setting
and start your car remotely a few minutes before
you are ready to leave. Dont Pour hot water on
your windshield because it could crack the glass.
Use salt or a saltwater mixture to melt ice off
your windshield Use external heat like a hair
dryer or a portable heater to melt ice off your
windshield Use a metal scraper, key, or cooking
tools like a spatula to remove ice off your
windshield
