Sustainability reporting has become an essential
aspect of corporate responsibility in India. With
increasing awareness about environmental and
social issues, companies are expected to go
beyond just financial performance and disclose

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has
made it mandatory for the top 100 companies
listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National
Stock Exchange to disclose their sustainability
performance in their annual reports. This move
has led to an increase in the number of
sustainability reports published by Indian
companies. These reports cover various aspects
such as energy efficiency, waste management,
social and labour practices, and community
development. Overall, sustainability reporting in
India is gradually gaining momentum and helping
companies to align their business strategies with
environmental and social goals. As a
sustainability reporting consultant, our role
would be to help organizations develop and
implement sustainability reporting practices that
align with international standards and
guidelines. We would work closely with companies
to assess their environmental, social, and
governance (ESG) performance and help them
communicate this information to stakeholders,
including investors, customers, and
employees. Our work may involve 1. Carrying out
sustainability analyses In order to do this, the
ESG performance of a company must be examined,
and potential improvement areas must be found. To
assess the company's governance processes, social
responsibility, and influence on the environment,
we would employ a variety of instruments and
methods. 2. Creating strategies for
sustainability A company's sustainability plan
would be developed in collaboration with them
once we have evaluated their sustainability
performance and determined whether it aligns with
their business goals and stakeholder
expectations. This can entail finding fresh ways
to lessen their influence on the environment,
enhance the working conditions for their
employees, or

increase the openness of their supply chains. 3.
Putting in place reporting frameworks The Global
Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability
Accounting Standards Board are two examples of
internationally renowned sustainability reporting
frameworks that we would assist businesses in
implementing (SASB). This entails creating
templates for reporting, gathering information,
and making sure the sustainability report of the
company complies with these guidelines. 4.
Interaction with stakeholders and
communication We would support businesses in
exposing sustainability report to their
stakeholders, customers, employees, investors,
and the general public, and how well they were
performing in terms of sustainability. In order
