  • What is Hysteroscopy?

Hysteroscopy lets a surgeon look inside your
uterus in order to identify and treat the causes
of irregular bleeding. Hysteroscopy is performed
using an hysteroscope which is a small tube
that's lit and put into your vagina in order to
look at your cervix and the inside of the uterus.
Hysteroscopy that is operated can be utilized to
eliminate adhesions, fibroids, and polyps.

  • What is Diagnostic Hysteroscopy?

Diagnostic hysteroscopy can identify structural
issues in the uterus that could cause bleeding
abnormally. Hysteroscopy may also be used to
confirm the results of other tests, such as an
ultrasound or -hysterosalpingography (HSG). It is
an examination using X-rays to determine whether
the fallopian tubes in your body are blocked.
Fallopian tubes that are blocked can cause
difficulty in becoming pregnant.

  • What is Operative Hysteroscopy?

Operative hysteroscopy addresses an anomaly
discovered during a diagnostic hysteroscopy. The
doctor can perform an operative and diagnostic
surgery at the same time which will avoid the
requirement for a subsequent operation. In
operative hysteroscopy, your doctor uses an
instrument to treat any anomalies that may cause
abnormal bleeding from the uterus. Endometrial
ablation is an operation that addresses abnormal
bleeding in the uterus. Your surgeon will use the
hysteroscope for examining the uterus prior to
using a device that will destroy the lining of
your uterus.

  • When Should Hysteroscopy be Performed?

If your menstrual cycle is regular Your surgeon
may suggest scheduling your hysteroscopy during
the first week following you have stopped
bleeding. This will give you an ideal image of
the internal uterus. If you experience regular
menstrual periods You may have to consult with
your doctor to determine the most suitable time
for Hysteroscopy. The procedure can be performed
anytime you've experienced menopausal changes..

tissues surrounding them.
