Banarasi sarees have an aura of royalty and
elegance associated with it and are made from
purest silk. The Banarasi silk sarees are
extremely popular amongst women in India for the
exuberance and splendor that surrounds it. This
silk saree is elaborately designed by the
experts and have a rich heritage of weaving
sarees. The many varieties of Banarasi silk
sarees are made in Varanasi, a city on the banks
of the holy river Ganga. Today we intend to
educate and create awareness about these
different types of Banarasi silk sarees.

Pure silk katan is a fabric which is very soft
and pleasant to wear. Pure silk threads are
weaved into this, after which it is knotted and
woven into pure silk sarees. In ancient times
katan sarees were handwoven but these days it is
made by using looms. Pure silk katan is very
good to wear for the ones who have sensitive
skin.

weight in compare to other saree fabrics.
Georgette sarees are in high demand among Indian

Labyrinth in the 'Jamawar' style. This is
another type of Benarasi saree that is famous
for weddings. The silk portion of the saree is
around the pallav and the pallav is actually the
part that has the tanchoi work done on it. The

the saree.

Butidar Banarasi Saree is the traditional
Banarasi Saree. It is known for its intricate
designs, handloom embroidery and the use of pure
zari and kora silk. Ochre in colour, this saree
is perfect for any occasion. The Butidar
Banarasi Saree is brocaded with silk, gold, and
silver threads. The Motif on this elaborately
woven sare includes the Angoor Bail, Latiffa
Butti, Jhari Butti, Ashraff Butti, Resham Butti,
and many more.

JANGLA BANARASI SAREE
The name Jangla is a modification of the
word Jungle, which can be seen in this
pattern, which features a strewn over the saree

cheaper variant of Jamdani sarees. This one was
