What to Expect During Masai Mara Migration Safari
You must be aware of the saying, the grass is
always greener on the other side. Yes, this is
precisely true if you notice it during migration.
Every year, about two million wildebeest trek on
their way from southern Serengeti to the green
pastures of Masai Mara. This is what we call The
Great Migration and is a safari must-see.
Reputed tour operators organize Masai Mara
Migration Safari being part of that you can
enjoy one of these natural wonders.

What is Migration in Short
With 1,5 million wildebeest, 400,000 zebra,
12,000 eland, and 300,000 Grants and Thomsons
gazelles journeying from southern Serengeti to
the Masai Mara, the great in Great Migration
might be somewhat of a misrepresentation. The
ongoing year-long relocation is a well-known
natural phenomenon, the timing of which relies
upon natural factors, the climate, and obviously,
the actual creatures. So, the greatest vertebrate
journey on the planet follows the rainfall.
During this period, the herd of wildlife travel
800 kilometers clockwise in a circle through the
Serengeti and Masai Mara ecosystems looking for
greener, mineral-rich fields and water. The
creatures spend the vast majority of the cycle in
the Serengeti in Tanzania and a few months in the
large fields of the Masai Mara.

The Climax of the Migration
As the masses of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles
enter the Masai Mara, they have a dangerous
welcome by many deadly hunters. Besides the
danger of the large cats, the lemming-like masses
come face-to-face with more than 3000 crocodiles
sneaking in the cloudy waters of the
Mara River during their river crossing. Watching
the groups aimlessly hop from riverbank edges and
into the river waters is fantastic. Ultimately,
the vast crowds are compensated with crown jewels
of the open Masai Mara fields. For a brief time,
life is excellent. However, when the food supply
wanes, and the downpours move on, so do the
crowds.

When is it Ideal for Expecting the Herd?
The best opportunity to see the Great Migration
in the Masai Mara is from July to October.
Remember, however, the life-giving force of
earthworks for herself. We will furnish you with
a genuinely plausible blueprint of when to
anticipate those unique minutes during the Great
Migration however, it is impossible to be aware
that the crowds will cross the river during a
specific timeframe. Weather conditions can be
unpredictable and late rains, or early rains can
bring about a postponed or early migration
pattern. Fortunately, the Masai Mara has a lot of
natural life to enjoy lasting throughout the
year. The months that are most often referenced
as the best season to visit the Great Migration,
July to October, are likewise the most active
months in the Masai Mara. Most would agree that
you will not have the groups to yourself during
these months.
