SU-100Y The
Soviet Boxtank
The Soviet Union was fighting the Winter
War against Finland in 1939-1940. While they were
successful in many ways, their tanks could not
penetrate the Finnish bunkers. The SU-100Y was
created to solve this problem. A 130mm naval gun
was placed on the chassis of the T-100 heavy
tank and it was called Boxtank because of its
appearance.
