  visit Canada each year to study at its
  educational institutions. A Canada student
  visa/study permit is required for students from
  other countries. This document allows a foreign
  citizen to stay in Canada during the course of a
  programme or course at a registered educational
  institution.

Approval Rate for Student Visas in Canada

• According to data released by Immigration,
  Refugees and Citizenship Canada 2020, nearly 51
  percent of all student visa applications were
  approved. Due to travel restrictions and ongoing
  pandemics, the acceptance rate has dropped.
• Canadas universities are accepting applications
  to three-semester programs. Here is a listing of
  Canadian international student intakes.
• The season of fall is from September to December.
• Winter lasts from January to April.
• Summer lasts from May through August.

How Do I Apply for a Canada Student Visa?

• Students can apply online and offline for a
  student visa. Application procedure is as
  follows
• 150 CAD application fee
• Biometrics Fee 85CAD
• Pay the tuition fees and apply to Canadian
  universities. Wait for the DLIs acceptance
  letter.
• You should check if you need a Canada study
  permit. All international applicants who want to
  travel to Canada must have an eTA.
• Prepare all required documents for application
• GIC can be purchased
• Register for the applications
• Take the medical exam
• Book a biometric interview and appointment.

Canada Student Visa Requirements

• The following documents are required to apply for
  a Canadian Student Visa
• Proof Of Acceptance All applicants who are
  enrolled at a designated learning institution
  (DLI), must submit a letter of acceptance along
  with their application.
• Proof Of Identity All applicants and their
  families must present the following documents to
  prove their identity A valid passport or travel
  document, 2 passport-size photos with the
  applicants name and birthdate inscribed on the
  back.
• Evidence of financial support Students must have
  the ability to pay for their living expenses
  while they study in Canada.

Applicants may submit the following documents as
proof of financial support

• A bank will need to provide proof of student
  loan.
• Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC), from a
  participating Canadian financial institution
• Bank statements from the last four months
• If the applicant has transferred money to Canada,
  proof of Canadian bank account.
• A letter from the sponsor declaring the
  availability of sufficient funds
• Canadian-funded programs or scholarships are only
  available to applicants who can show evidence of
  Canadian funding.

Electronic Authorization for Travel eTA

• An Electronic Travel Authorization is a document
  that can be used to allow foreigners from
  countries exempted from visa requirements to
  enter Canada. It can be electronically linked to
  the applicants passport.
• CICs website allows students to apply for eTA. A
  7CAD application fee is required.

The Application Procedure

• Register on the CIC Website.
• You cannot save the form for later use. It is
  best to have all the information you need on
  hand.
• Information required includes
• Original passport
• Valid email address
• You can pay 7 CAD to get Eta with Visa
  Mastercard, American Express or UnionPay.
• After completing the form, pay 7CAD
• A confirmation email regarding the eTA
  application has been sent.
• Once they have an eTA, applicants can travel to
  Canada.

What is the Student Direct Stream (SDS)?

• Students from China, India and the Philippines
  can now apply for a Canadian Student Visa through
  the Student Direct Stream. This is a quicker and
  simpler process.

Documents Required for the Student Direct Stream

• Candidate must provide the most current secondary
  and post-secondary education transcripts.
• A letter from a Designated Learning Institution
  (DLI) confirming acceptance.
• To stay more than six months, students must have
  a complete medical exam.
• All applicants must provide proof of a Guaranteed
  Investor Certificate (GIC), with a minimum of
  10,000 CAD.
• It is mandatory to provide proof of payment for
  tuition in the first year of the applicants
  study.
• International students need to prove their
  Language Proficiency by submitting one of the
  following tests IELTS with a minimum score 6.0,
  or Test dEvaluation de Francais (TEF) with a
  minimal score of 7.

Reasons to Reject a Student Visa in Canada

• Students who have met all the requirements to be
  admitted to Canada are more likely to succeed
  than those who dont. A study permit to Canada
  can be denied even if the applicant meets all
  admission and academic requirements for a
  university. These are the most common reasons for
  IRCC refusal of a Canadian student visa.
• Financial Insufficiency An immigration official
  may deny a study visa application to Canada if
  they find financial insufficiency.
• Choice Of Program A visa officer may challenge
  the applicants choice of program.

• Acceptance Letter The permit could be denied if
  the acceptance letter of the applicant is not in
  order. The visa officer may reject a student visa
  if he or she is unsure that the applicant meets
  the minimum requirements.
• Incomplete Identity or Travel Documents Permits
  may be denied if there are too many empty spaces
  in the travel record and no supporting evidence.
  The chances of the permit being rejected are
  increased if the documents are difficult to read
  or incomplete.
• Intent to Return to Home Country Documents
  indicating the intent to return are required to
  prove that the applicant will not remain in
  Canada after their student visa expires.
