1. PURPOSE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
First you have to clarify your purpose for using
social media. Some businesses use social media
to increase brand awareness, while others use it
to drive website traffic and sales. Social media
can also help you generate brand engagement,
build a community, and serve as a customer
support channel for your customers. So always
keep in mind your purpose. It may be to increase
the traffic or generate brand engagement.

2. DEFINE YOUR TARGET MARKET
Who is your ideal customer? Defining your target
audience is critical to your online marketing
efforts. If you want to reach women aged 18 to
29, you should concentrate your efforts on
Facebook. If you want to market to men with
graduate degrees, you should use LinkedIn. Your
target audience influences not only where you
spend your marketing time, but also the type of
content you provide.

3. ESTABLISH THE TONE AND FREQUENCY
4. ENGAGE YOU AUDIENCE
Conversations about your business will rise in
tandem with the growth of a social media
marketing agency. People will leave comments on
your social media postings, tag you in their
posts, and send you direct messages. The more
you communicate with your audience, the more
likely you are to convert them.
  • You can't just write a blog "every now and then,"
or it will never be finished. Plan ahead of time
to publish two blog posts per week, on Mondays
and Wednesdays... or to publish three Facebook
status updates per week... or participate in two
LinkedIn discussions per week You must also
decide on your official tone or voice for all of
these posts. Funny? Conversational? Formal and
corporate? Select a tone that will be appealing
    to your target audience.

5. ANALYSIS
Whether you're generating content or interacting
on social media, you'll want to keep track of
how your social media marketing is
progressing. Do you have more followers on social
media than you had last month? In a month how
many comments you get? How many people used your
company's hashtag in their social media posts?
