Who is Lil Nas X?
  • Lil Nas X was conceived Montero Lamar Hill in
    1999. His stage name consolidates Lil (a
    typical naming saying for rappers), Nas from a
    Twitter account he ran while a gave aficionado of
    Nicki Minaj and X as the Roman numeral 10 (the
    quantity of years he figured it would take to
    track down distinction).

Early Life
  • Lil Nas X was born Montero Lamar Hill on April 9,
    1999, in Lithia Springs, Georgia. His mother
    called him Montero in honour of the Mitsubishi
    Montero, a car she liked. After Nas guardians
    isolated when he was 6, he and his kin went to
    live with their mom and incredible grandma in an
    Atlanta public-lodging project that was known for
    medications and savagery. Around four years after

  • Nas went to the University of West Georgia to
    study computer science, but he didnt like
    college. He wrote songs and discovered that he
    really liked making music. He dropped out of
    school to focus on that, which upset his father.

Songs History
  • In December 2018, Nas put the song on Sound
    Cloud. Because of how good he was on social
    media, the song went viral on TikTok and spread
    to other sites. In March 2019, Old Town Road
    was on the Hot 100, Hot RB/Hip-Hop Songs, and
    Hot Country Songs charts on Billboard. The song
    was taken off the country chart after that.
    Billboards official reason was that Nass song
    didnt have enough elements of todays country
    music, but many people wondered if the fact that
    he is Black had anything to do with it. Billboard
    said that race didnt matter.

Role in Hannah Montana
  • In spite of this, the song went to the top of the
    Billboard Hot 100. He delivered a remix of Old
    Town Street that he made with Billy Beam Cyrus,
    a country star from the 1990s who Nas knew from
    his role in Hannah Montana. With remixes by Cyrus
    and others, Old Town Road stayed at the top of
    the Hot 100 chart for 19 weeks, which was a
    record.

Glastonbury Festival
  • Nas came out to the public on June 30, 2019, at
    the end of Pride Month. After performing at a
    Pride concert at the Glastonbury Festival, he
    told his fans to listen closely to his song
    C7osure to find out that he was gay.

Suicide Prevention Advocate of the Year Award
  • Nas was given the Suicide Prevention Advocate of
    the Year Award by The Trevor Project in September
    2021. He replied, If using my voice and
    expressing myself through my music can help even
    one lonely kid, then it was all worth it.
  • In 2021, Nas was the center of attention at the
    Met Gala. He wore three outfits that stood out.
    Nas says he wants to start acting when he thinks
    its time.

Relationships
  • In 2021, Nas dated dancer Yai Ariza, who was in
    the music video for his song Thats What I
    Want. But Nas said once they were no longer
    together, Ive finally come to the point in my
    life where I know I dont want to fall in love.
    Love takes a lot of time, and Im so focused on
    my music career. Its a lot of responsibility,
    and I dont think Im ready for it right now.
