Title: what is glaucoma?

1
WHAT IS GLAUCOMA?
  • HOW CAN YOU TREAT THIS DISEASE !!

2
WHAT IS GLAUCOMA?
  • Glaucoma is a disorder in which the optic nerve
in your eye is damaged. It becomes worse with
time. An increase in intraocular pressure is
commonly connected with it. Glaucoma is typically
inherited. It usually happens later in life.
  • Increased intraocular pressure can injure the
optic nerve, which transmits images to the brain.
If untreated, glaucoma can result in irreversible
visual loss or possibly total blindness within a
    few years.
  • The majority of persons with glaucoma have no
early signs or pain. Regularly visit your eye
doctor to ensure that glaucoma is detected and
treated before long-term vision loss occurs.
  • It is impossible to restore vision that has been
gone. Lowering your eye pressure, on the other
hand, can help you keep your existing eyesight.
The majority of glaucoma patients who follow
their treatment plan and undergo frequent eye
    exams can keep their eyesight.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN CAUSES ?
  • Aqueous humour, the clear fluid inside your eye,
normally drains through a mesh-like tube. The
liquid builds up when this duct becomes clogged
or when the eye produces too much fluid. Experts
aren't always sure what causes the obstruction.
It can, however, be inherited, meaning that it is
passed on from one generation to the next.
  • A physical or chemical injury to the eye, a
serious eye infection, clogged blood vessels
inside the eye, and inflammatory disorders are
some of the less common causes of glaucoma. It's
uncommon, but eye surgery to treat another
problem can cause it. Both eyes are normally
affected, but one may be more affected than the
    other.

WHEN TO GO FOR GLAUCOMA FOR CHECK-UP ?

annual complete eye examination by an
    ophthalmologist.

HOW CAN YOU TREAT THIS DISEASE!
  • Glaucoma treatment seeks to lower eyeball
pressure and varies depending on the type of
glaucoma a patient has. However, in order to
manage Glaucoma, it is necessary to have a
thorough understanding of the disease. There are
several treatments available once cancer has been
detected. A combination of Eye Drops lasers,
Glaucoma Implant Surgery, or Conventional Surgery
could be used. We offer Glaucoma laser therapy at
Sharp Sight, one of the best eye hospitals in
delhi for Glaucoma, to help limit the permanent
