India generated 550 tonnes of biomedical waste
per day in 2018,and 27,427 government rule v
iolat ions were reported in the same year.
Housekeeping staff,lab technicians,and informal
waste pickers are at greatest risk,so are people
and animals living close to dumping sites.
Incineration is not viable. What we need is an
earth-friendly disposal method - and we're
