Muslim women mental health uk The prevalence of
mental health matters in our society is no
secret. We have all heard the statistics 1 in 4
people will experience mental health issues of
some kind each year, whilst 1 in 6 people will
report experiencing issues such as anxiety and
depression in any given week in England. We are
also very aware that depression can be
particularly high in Muslim communities (in
comparison to the general population), and this
is especially the case for Muslim women. For
Muslim women mental health in uk MWNHUB operated
by Muslim Womens Networks is doing following
efforts. Read there article on Muslim women

Muslim charities Muslim charities Muslim women
launch Nisa Global Foundation.
Nisa Global Foundation (NGF) was launched on 2nd
May 2021 by four Muslim women, Shaista Gohir OBE,
Nazmin Akthar, Dr. Iram Sattar and Fozia Uddin.
The former three are also trustees at the award
winning national charity Muslim Women's Network
UK. The name of the foundation name has been
inspired by the fourth chapter of the Quran,
An-Nisa (The Women) because of its focus on
empowering women and girls through by funding
health, education, livelihoods and gender- based
abuse projects. Read more about this Muslim

Muslim women influencers Muslim women
influencers in the form of British Muslim Female
Film and TV Directors Following the recent
Oscars 2021 awards ceremony, it has been nice to
see some female BAME talent recognised for
example, Chloé Zhao just made history as the
first woman of ethnic minority to win the
best director award. While such achievements
should be celebrated, she is still only the
second woman to ever win best director which
reflects the prevalence of gender inequality
within this male-dominated industry. It has been
reported that women accounted for 16 of
directors working on the 100 highest grossing
films in 2020. So to no surprise, it is even more
rare to find Muslim female directors being
recognised for their film-making talent, which is
why I am writing this blog to highlight some of
them. Here are three British Muslim female
directors SHEILA NORTLEY, FARAH NABLUSI, RUHI
HAMID Read these Muslim women influencers story

Muslim female role models Muslim female role
models A Journey To Freedom
Story of a young lady who discussed her story of
fleeing from North Korea and crossing freezing
deserts and water for a better life - something
that as a child of an immigrant in Britain, I
cannot fathom, but can understand the need to
migrate for a better life. However, this wasnt
just for a better life, this was for survival
and having a life, let alone a better one. This
womans story really struck me- from starvation
and oppression to separation from her family,
human-trafficking, being sold as a wife and then
making her way to freedom. When I saw her book, I
knew I had to read it. In order to live is the
story of North Korean defector, Yeonmi
Park. Without ruining the whole story for you
all, I wanted to highlight a few things from this
book that resonated with me. Read this Muslim
female role models story from here.
