HISTORY

• MIT-WPU, in its early days, was known as the
  Maharashtra Institute of Technology Group of
  Institutions.
• Furthermore, it was the first college managed and
  owned by the MAEERs group of institutions and
  the first private engineering college in
  Maharashtra.
• MAAERs was affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune
  University (SPPU) which later turned into a
  private university.
• The University Grants Commission was also pleased
  to include the university under section 2(f) and
  12 (B) of the U.G.C. Act. 1956.

• The main objective of the MIT-WPU library is to
  support the research and educational activities
  of the colleges.
• Hence, the library is making the best efforts for
  providing study material in the form of books,
  journals, e-journals etc.
• Consequently, the library has a vast collection
  of 75,000 books including more than 70,000
  technical books.
• It also has 175 titles of which 12 happen to be
  international titles, 15 newspapers and 10
  magazines.
