Why Sanitary Diaphragm Valves Are
Ideal Sanitary diaphragm valves make valves
easier to use, cleaner and more environmentally
friendly. A diaphragm valve should be serviced
regularly, and ideally, on a regular basis to
prevent leaking of treated water into the
surrounding environment. The sanitary diaphragm
valve is much cheaper than the standard bellows
valve and has many advantages. Most often, the
sanitary diaphragm valve does not require a
slider valve because of its highly efficient
operation, and the high operating pressure it
provides. This combination, along with the
corrosion resistance of stainless steel tubing,
makes the sanitary valve suitable for most
environments. The valves will not be subjected
to high pressure at the pump sites as some
bellows valves might. The valves are designed to
work at pressure levels up to 150 bar, which is
typical for many applications. The diaphragm
valve suitable for using for oil fields, drilling
rigs, chemical and petrochemical plants,
foundries, distilleries, domestic water and power
supplies and wastewater systems, and other
water-related applications. Sanitary diaphragm
valves that are widely used on water and
wastewater pipes, for example, valve covers and
pipes, should only be used where they have
sufficient quality. They will be damaged if a
valve cap is left on. But since they are most
commonly used for domestic water and wastewater
systems, its more common to see these in water
supplies than in wastewater systems.
