About This Presentation
Title:

What is Robotic Process Automation- RPA

Description:

Software users can create robots or "bots" using RPA. These bots can learn from humans and follow rules to execute business processes. RPA automation allows users to build bots by watching digital human actions. Your bots will follow your instructions and then do the rest. Robotic Process Automation software bots are able to interact with any system or application the same as humans, except that RPA bots operate nonstop, faster, and with 100% reliability. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

What is Robotic Process Automation
  • RPA is a software technique that allows you to
easily create, deploy and manage software robots
that can mimic human movements and work with
digital systems and software. Software robots can
read what's displayed on a screen and type the
correct keystrokes. They can also traverse
systems and locate and retrieve data and perform
a variety predefined tasks. Software robots can,
however, do the job faster and more accurately
than humans without needing to get up or stretch.

Business Benefits of Robotic Process Automation
  • Robotic process automation makes organizations
    more profitable, flexible, and responsive.
Robotic process automation also improves employee
    happiness and engagement by eliminating
    repetitive chores from their day.
  • RPA is not intrusive and can be used quickly to
accelerate digital transformation. It is also
useful for automating old systems without APIs,
    virtual desktop infrastructures or database
    access.

Why is RPA Transformative?
  • RPA technology is changing the way people work
    around the world.
  • Software robots can perform mundane tasks that
are less important than human beings. They can
login to applications and systems, move files and
directories, extract, copy and insert data, fill
out forms and run regular reports and analyses.
Robots with high cognitive abilities can also
perform cognitive tasks like reading and
    understanding language and participating in
    conversations. They can also understand
unstructured data and make difficult judgments by
    using advanced machine learning models.

6
Where can RPA be used?
  • Robotic process automation has been proven to be
a great tool for increasing efficiency and
reducing repetitive monotony in a variety of
industries and business processes. RPA is used in
a variety of areas including finance, compliance,
legal and customer service. It has also been
implemented by companies from a range of
    industries, such as manufacturing, healthcare,
retail, public sector, and financial services.
  • RPA's broad application has made it a popular
choice. Automation is a great candidate for
    almost every high-volume, repeatable,
    business-rules driven, high-volume process.

7
Is RPA the same as artificial intelligence (AI)?
  • RPA and AI are not the same thing. Combining RPA
and AI can open up new opportunities for
businesses around the globe. RPA technology
allows RPA robots to use advanced AI skills such
as machine learning models and natural language
    processing (NLP), character recognition and
picture recognition, among others. These AI
capabilities will greatly improve the robot's
    ability to perform cognitive tasks.
  • Recognizing semi-structured and unstructured
    data in documents
  • Screen visualization (including virtual
    desktops).
  • Understanding and continuing discussions and
    chit-chats
  • RPA applications such as process mining make it
possible to statistically identify a broad range
of automation opportunities, and create a solid
    automation pipeline.
