  • Weve all been in that place where the
outside of our kitchen looks squeaky clean. There
is almost a shimmer and shine to it, but in the
back of our minds, we know how well our kitchen
cabinets are at hiding the mess. We sometimes
dont have the time to do a deep clean, so we
throw things into the cabinets without a second
thought of how. Whats the saying? Out of sight,
out of mind. Well, luckily, we have a
step-by-step guide to help organize your kitchen
cabinets so that everything is clean inside and
out, but youll also know where everything is.

3
Prep
  • To prepare, youre going to want to remove
everything from your kitchen cabinets. Make sure
you have ample room so that you can sort through
everything. Once emptied, wipe down and clean the
    shelves with a multipurpose cleaner.

4
Step 1 - Clean It Out Decide What Stays
  • Remove everything from your kitchen cabinets.
Then decide what you would like to keep and which
location it should be. Pots, pans, and baking
sheets are often stored near the stove. Food
storage containers could be in under-island
storage or near a dishwasher. Appliances like
blenders or food processors should be near food
prep areas for easy access. Ultimately where you
place these kitchen items is up to you but keep
in mind that storing them near where they will be
used will save you time and make finding items
    easier.

5
Step 2 - Measure Line the Shelves
  • With a tape measure, get the width, depth, and
height of your kitchen cabinets space. Remember
to measure the actual cabinet door opening. Once
you have your measurements, line all of your
    shelves with a heavy-duty water-resistant shelf
liner. This will make cabinets easier to wipe
    down and clean.

6
Step 3 - Divide Conquer
  • Regardless of what youre storing in your
kitchen cabinets, youll want to utilize the
vertical space. Many lower kitchen cabinets have
a half shelf for this very reasonone way to
utilize this space by using cabinet shelves to
    keep baking dishes separate.

Step 4 - Organize it all
  • Organization products such as
    commercial-grade pull-out cabinets organizers are
designed to hold heavy cookware and appliances,
such as your large pots or mixer. Organizers such
as these will allow for easier access to items
you need without having to shift everything
around every time you need a specific pot or pan.
A common problem is pot lids which tend to get
jumbled. Two-tier sliding cabinet organizers can
help make good use of vertical space and make for
    easier storage.
  • Follow these steps if youre looking to
organize your kitchen cabinets, and make using
    your kitchen easier and efficient.
