• According to commandments from Torah, And you
  shall write them on the doorposts (mezuzot) of
  your house and upon your gates. Every Jewish
  home must have a mezuzah scroll on all the

• As a rule, a mezuzah once affixed should not be
  removed from doorposts permanently, leaving the

  back or replaced with another mezuzah.
• Thus, when moving to another apartment or house
  where the next tenant is Jewish, one should not
  remove the mezuzah. However, if the next tenants
  are not Jewish and chances are they would be
  discarded or defaced if left behind, consult a
  competent rabbi to know how to proceed.

• If the new occupant is Jewish and wants the
  mezuzahs, you should leave all of the mezuzahs in
  their place. However, if your mezuzah is
  expensive and of high-quality, you may replace
  them with the less expensive ones before you
  leave, ensuring they are 100 kosher.
• You may also request the new occupant to pay you
  for the mezuzahs. In this case, one will be
  allowed to compensate for the mezuzahs at a fair
  market value.
