TYRE ROTATION AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Description:

Certain practices are recommended by the tyre manufacturers that help in enhancing the tyre life. A tyre undergoes regular wear due to the stress it undergoes while vehicle movement on uneven surfaces and constant usage. To maximize the tread life and to increase tyre longevity, tyre manufacturers recommend tyre rotation. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

What is Tyre Rotation?
Tyre rotation is a simple method to reduce the
wear on your tyre and to increase the longevity
of your tyres. In this method, the positions of
your tyres are changed. The changes in the tyre
position are done as per the vehicle needs and
the type of Tyres Leicester, being used by you.
3
Various types of Tyre Rotation are
  • Rotation rearward crosses Here the position of
the rear tyres are changed with that of the front
tyres such that the rear tyres are kept on to the
original sides of the vehicles. But the sides of
the front tyres are swapped when they are moved
towards the rear side. This pattern is generally
    recommended for four-wheeler vehicles or
    rear-wheel drive vehicles.
  • Rotation in X-patterns In this tyre rotation
all the tyres are moved to the diagonal position
of their vehicle thus, the rear left comes to the
front right position and so on. This type of
rotation is preferred in vehicles that are
    generally light-weighted and for sedans.

4
Why Rotation of Tyres is Important?
  • Rotation of tyres is considered to be an
important process as it makes sure that there is
even wear and tear on all the tyres. The rotation
of tyres can prove to be very beneficial as it
not only saves money, but it also extends the
life of the tyre. Generally, a front-drive
vehicle front tyre wears out first, in such
scenario, the rear tyres which experience the
less stress and wear can be repositioned to the
front side and the front tyre positioned to the
rear side. This makes the wear even and enhances
the tread life of the tyres.
