Title: Vodafone Play vs JioTV for Watching Live TV

1
JioTV vs Vodafone Play for Watching TV Online
2
  • JioTV is offering 158 HD channels and allows
users to watch Live TV and content from seven
last days, which again itself is a unique thing
as no one is providing such benefit. Now, it has
been reported that JioTV has added two more
    channels on its platform.
  • If we talk about the comparison, then Live TV app
from Jio offers content in almost all languages,
including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Airtel is providing in 107 Hindi channels, while
JioTV ships 211 Hindi channels. Airtel has 41
Tamil channels, while JioTV is providing Tamil
    content via 61 channels.

  • The HD channels offered on Vodafone Play mobile
web are ZEE TV HD, Zee Cinema HD, And TV HD, And
Pictures HD, And Prive HD, Animal Planet HD
World, Gemini Movies HD, Discovery HD World and
    Zee Cafe HD.
  • Additionally, Vodafone has categorised the Live
TV section as per regional languages. For
example, the Live TV channels are categorised as
    Bengali Entertainment, Tamil Entertainment,
    Telugu Entertainment, Marathi Entertainment,
    Kannada Entertainment, Malayalam Entertainment
    and Regional Entertainment.
  • Vodafone Play mobile web version was launched a
few days ago for both Android and iOS platforms.
Similar to Airtel Xstream platform, Vodafone Play
is also an OTT app for Vodafone customers which
allows them to watch Video-on-Demand (VoD) and
Live TV channels. Vodafone Plays mobile website
is now offering more than 50 Live TV channels.

User Interface
  • Since JioCinema Movie App is supposed to cater to
your video-on-demand needs, Jio TV can focus on
live TV alone, which means launching the app
takes you straight to the program guide. You can
set up your favourites, and see your recent
channels, or scroll vertically to see more
channels, and horizontally to see what's coming
    next.
  • Drop down menus let you select the categories and
languages, and there's a simple button to tap to
list only HD channels. It's a huge step forward
from the original design that Jio TV had launched
with, but it's definitely utilitarian. Features
such as recordings are not readily apparent, and
although the overall interface is usable, there's
    little by way of personalisation.
