QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS The Golden Resident
Permit Program enables investors to become
residents of Portugal and apply for citizenship
of the EU. To qualify for residency and
citizenship, prospective investors must - Be a
third-country national Hold no criminal
record Enter Portugal for the ?rst time on a
valid Schengen visa Provide proof that
investment funds originate from abroad Ful?l the
minimum stay requirements (seven days for the
?rst year, 14 days for subsequent two years
period)
STEPS AND TIMELINE
The following table breaks down Portugals visa
permit application process into 5 basic steps.
Each step must be completed before continuing to
the next.

due at the end of year 1 and 3
STEP 4 Submit application at SEF and collect

The Portuguese government charges the following
fees in respect of the Golden Visa
Initial application fee 527.60 (82.30 for each investors family member)
Approval fee per Golden Visa 5,274.40 per visa holder
A visa renewal fee at the end of year one three 2,637.20 per visa holder
A renewal fee for the following years 527.60 (82.30 for each investors family member)
Renewal costs 5,000 per family for the initial application and 1,500 for each renewal
Additional fees are applicable depending on the
investment option chosen. Please note that each
stage has additional service and government
fees. Translation, notarization and
authentication fees at all stages of the process
are the responsibility of the investor. Fees
