  • It is the responsibility of the Chief Technology
Officer to implement and execute new technologies
across a firm. It is necessary for the CTO to
think about the future of technology and how it
can be integrated into the company's path.
Another important responsibility, however, is for
the CTO to maintain the existing information
technology systems in a company and to ensure
that they operate reliably as they are expected
    to. Visit Startup CTO
  • Crucially, this person must work closely with
other departments to articulate a coherent vision
of new technology, such as marketing and business
development. With strategic planning being a
    major responsibility within this position,
    managing new initiatives through evaluations,
assessments and implementation is also critical
for a CTO. It refers to both existing
technologies as well as potential developments
within a business. The CTO must ensure these are
all within the company's means when developing
current and future business plans. An essential
requirement will also be the development and
    control of an annual budget.

  • The ability to analyze is crucial since the CTO
must calculate the costs / benefits of investing
in new and potentially risky technologies.
  • Even the CTO needs to be an outstanding
    communicator. Clear communication and staff
management are vital to the quality of their
work, and the capacity, for example, to introduce
new technology innovations to stakeholders is a
    highly significant obligation.
  • Finally, in a fast-paced world, an ability to
lead and adapt is needed for survival as a CTO
and potentially as a business. Click here CTO
  • Education degree Needed
  • The preparation required for a CTO consists of at
least a computer science , information technology
or even engineering bachelor's degree. Specialist
training is also sometimes a prerequisite for the
    job.
  • Extensive experience is also needed (usually more
than ten years) because a person's expected skill
and knowledge in this position is enormous, and
ideally they must have been proven and tested in
    a similar role.

  • Career journey
  • CTO 's position is a high senior role, and
progress beyond that begins to slow down. The pay
is excellent but how to become a CTO remains the
issue. Get more info Bryan Starbuck
