Introduction

Fascia

• The architectural term fascia is referred to
  something that you can simply call trim of the

  either made of metal or a wooden board. It
  basically acts as a protection layer between the

• Soffits are the exposed surface that is
  underneath the overhanging edge of the roof.
  Soffits are or can be used for ventilation as
  well. For that purpose, soffits are made of
  little holes that act as vents. It proves to be

  of the roof with the roofing tiles or shingles.

  Flashings are used to cover these leftover

  drainage of rainwater, melting ice and other type
  of drainage that falls from the roof to the
  gutters. The main function of the gutters is to
  make sure that water and other chemicals (used
  while cleaning the roofs) is kept away from the
  foundation of your house.

• Shingles can also be a problematic area because
  it can get damaged and allow the underneath wood
  to get rotten and damaged with time. The most
  common problem with shingles is the
  discoloration. The roofs made of shingles provide
  protection to the house but may involve the
  problem of exposing the roof to the damage when
  it gets curled or discolored.
