  • India has sufficient hill station spread all over
    the country for a tranquil and picturesque
    destination for tourists. A hill station is a
    town located at a higher elevation than the
    nearby plain or valley. In the Indian context,
    most hill stations are at an altitude of
    approximately 1,000 to 2,500 metres (3,300 to
    8,200 ft) whereas very few are outside this

Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir
  • Ninety five km east of Srinagar at an altitude of
    2,130 metres, Pahalgam is unspoiled by the
    ravages of progress. Away from the grind of daily

    streams of ice water and dense pine and cedar

  • Munnar rises as three mountain streams merge -
    Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. 1,600 m
    above sea level, this hill station was once the
    summer resort of the erstwhile British Government
    in South India. One of the most sought after
    honeymoon destinations in Kerala, Munnar is
    replete with resorts and many other facilities
    that fit a wide range of budgets. Sprawling tea
    plantations, picturesque towns, winding lanes and
    holiday facilities make this a popular resort

Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu
  • Kodaikanal is a hill town in the southern Indian
    state of Tamil Nadu. Its set in an area of
    granite cliffs, forested valleys, lakes,
    waterfalls and grassy hills. At 2,000 meters
    above sea level, the town centers around
    man-made, star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake, bordered
    by evergreen forest. Rowing boats can be hired,
    and hikers and cyclists follow the 5k Lake Road
    path around the shore.There are more than a few
    spellbinding places to visit in Kodaikanal that
    makes the place a hot-favourite amongst tourist
    who travel to South India. This hilly town is at
    a high altitude, which makes the local
    attractions quainter than the others.Travelers
    going to Kodaikanal began their journey at
    Ammaianayakkanur village and had to travel almost
    50 kilometers travelling long hours by bullock
    cart up to Krishnamma Nayak Thope, then another
    18 Km by Foot, Pony or Doli carried by the hired
    coolies.
