About Mysore Sightseeing Places
Mysore attractions are one of the favorite
tourist destination city in Karnataka. It was
formerly the capital of the state and hence has
played an important role in the history of the
state and of South India. Like many other cities
in India, Mysore has developed into a modern
cosmopolitan. However is has kept its rich
historical culture and legacy, creating an
exclusive experience for travelers.  Mysore
attracts people from all over the country and the
world, that are seeking the splendor and unique
culture, that Mysore has to offer ,Mysore
Visiting Places is world class tourist Place In
India.

The KRS dam and Brindavan Gardens
The KRS dam and the adjoining Brindavan
Gardens are both worth visiting. The Brindavan
Gardens is one of its kinds in the country. It is
famous all over for its vividly lit dancing
fountains that come alive once the sun dips
beneath the horizon.The dam was built across
river Kaveri in 1924.

Mysore Zoo
Visiting the oldest zoo in India is becoming a
huge attraction over the past few decades.
The Mysore Zoo was founded by Maharaja Chamaraja
Wodeyar in 1892. It flourished under Royal
financing but was eventually handed over to the
government after independence. Today the Zoo is
equipped with modern facilities, captivating
animals, and has become a pioneer in breeding
methods for animals in captivity. Mysore Zoo was
started with an area of 10.9 Acres and during
1907 another 6.22 acre was added to the zoo.

St. Philomena Church
The St. Philomenas Church in Mysore is one of
the oldest churches in India. It is over 200
years old. Initially over 250 years ago there was
a small church in its place. When the capital of
Mysore state was move from Srirangapatnam to
Mysore city in 1799, many British officers and
soldiers came and settled down in Mysore.
The Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar III realized the
need for a Christian church for these people. So
the Maharaja gave them a small plot of land on
the Mysore-Bangalore Road and a little church
came up there. As the city expanded and the
Christian population of the city increased there
was a need for a larger church.
