Title: Evaluation Criteria of the CRS Points Calculator

1
Evaluation Criteria of the CRS Points Calculator
  • Under the Canada Express Entry Program, the
eligibility of applicants is evaluated based on
an intensive Comprehensive Ranking System. After
a profile is filed in the Express Entry pool, the
CRS points calculator tool uses various criteria
to determine the candidates potential for Canada
    skilled immigration, and allocates corresponding
    points out of 1200.

2
  • This tool assesses applications under the
    following streams
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Provincial Nominee Program (Online via Express
    Entry)

3
Core / Human Capital Factors
  • These factors examine the applicants ability to
contribute to the Canadian economy. Their age,
education, language skills and Canadian work
experience (if any) is taken into consideration
at this stage. An applicant who wishes to migrate
with an accompanying spouse or common-law-partner
may avail a maximum of 460 points, while
individual applicants can receive up to 500
    points.

4
Spouse or Common-Law-Partner Factors
  • If the spouse or common-law-partner will be
accompanying the candidate to Canada, as many as
40 points can be added to the CRS score. Points
are awarded based on the spouses Canadian work
experience (if any), education and language
    skills.

5
Skills Transferability Factors
  • This parameter assesses if the skills and
experience of the aspirant will translate to the
Canadian labour market. The applicants language
skills and/or Canadian work experience in
combination with their education and/or work
experience (outside Canada) or a certificate of
qualification in a trade occupation can fetch
    up to 100 points.

6
Additional Points
  • No more than 600 surplus points may be claimed if
    the applicant has
  • A sibling who is a citizen or permanent resident
    of Canada
  • French language skills
  • Completed a post-secondary academic qualification
    in Canada
  • A valid job offer from a Canadian employer
  • Nomination from a Canadian province or territory

Calculate Your CRS Score
7
  • The CRS points calculator allocates a score based
on the afore-mentioned factors. This score
determines the rank of the applicants profile in
the pool. Only the highest-ranking profiles are
invited to apply for permanent residence by
    Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
  • A genuine Canada immigration consultant will
conduct this evaluation before filing an
Expression of Interest, to ascertain the chances
    for success in the process.
