Title: Why the Tail Lights of the Car does not Work

1
Why the Tail Lights of the Car does not Work
2
The tail lights of the car are generally used for
driving the car at night, at twilight hours as
well as in bad weather conditions such as the
rain and snow.
3
The main purpose of tail lights are, it can
illuminate in the rear of the car and turn on
when the flip of the switch turns on the
headlights.
4
But in new model cars, the automatic sensor is
used which can turn on the tail lights to detect
the drops in ambient brightness.
5
Like other parts of the car, the tail lights also
stop working and cause many safety issues in your
car. As a result, the driver unable to see the
car due to the lack of light in the rear.
6
The following points define the several causes
behind the issues in the tailpipe of the car.
7
Damaged tail light bulbs
8
Removing the tail light cover of the car has an
access panel where you can easily reach in and
twist the tail light bulbs out of the lens.
9
Determine the damaged bulb of the car by removing
the socket plugged in it and closely inspect the
filament. The broken filament means no
illumination.
10
Failed socket
11
Sometime when the socket of the bulb which is
plugged into it get failed, then it will cause
corrosion and moisture entering the socket due to
poor connection of wires.
12
If you find the bulb and fuse in good condition,
then check the current condition of the socket
which may change into white, blue or brown color
and broke the pins.
13
Worn out wiring
14
If electrical current unable to reach the socket,
then check that the damaged or broken wire of the
car.
15
At this point, you need to obtain the wiring
diagram and visually inspect the tires along with
the tail light circuit for determining the broken
wires or cracked insulation.
16
Damaged ambient light sensor
17
The modern cars have an ambient light sensor on
the dashboard which help the car's computer to
automatically turn on and off the headlights and
tail lights.
18
If both the headlights and parking lights are not
turned on and the sensor is damaged, then it
unable to turn on the lights.
19
Failed control switches
20
The switch on the dashboard are used for turning
on the headlights, parking lights, and tail
lights as well. If the switch is failed, then the
parts of the tailpipe are not working.
21
In this case, the tail lights are not turned on
through the switch which controls them and needs
to be checked with a multimeter.
22
Conclusion
23
Tracking the electrical failure of the car can be
tricky and frustrating, but tracking down the
failed tail light bulb is easy because it is run
on their own isolated circuit.
24
All of the above cases do not turn on the tail
lights. So, when you realize that your tail
lights are not working, then fix the problem
immediately.
