BRETT PODMORE
  • THE MAN WHO IMPLIMENTED ALL THESE TIPS

2
  • There is no shortcut to skill levels. Only
practice can make your skill sharp. Thanks to the
omniscient and ubiquitous internet gods you have
at your fingertips a wide array of instructional
and motivating videos. All around fitness is most
important these days and you should improve your
stamina with cardio and workouts for your legs
and lower back day by day. The important areas
that you should concentrate on to improve your
    skills are

3
1. Heading - Usually something most people ignore
all the time. 2. Wrong foot shooting Its not
an absolute must but it is a Plus point and most
greats have the ability to shoot off either
foot. 3. Ball control in the air - Freestyle
skills help a lot with this.
4
4. Bicycle kicks - It greatly improves your
ball-eye coordination and anticipation. 5.
Integrity - It is less and less evident among
players these days, with cheating (within the
bounds of the game) very prominent, what with
blatant dives and subtle fouls. Being bland is
okay, but being a cheat is always a big ink blot
on your reputation.
5
6. Volley, Half-volley shoots - It is one of the
strongest skill shots in a strikers arsenal and
the toughest to master. You really need to work a
lot to get this skill. Half Volleys just takes a
lot of practice to get master on.  7. Power - You
need to have a pretty low center of gravity and a
lot of strength in your gut and upper thighs to
take the impact of challenges and upper body
strength to take throw-ins and some push and
shove. A weak footballer is a poor footballer
IMO.
6
8. Passing Lot of people take it as the last
thing to practice, but is extremely important and
a very tough skill to get right, because you have
to think ahead and cut not just the defense but
the goalie too. It is the most chess move like
skill and is a great skill to develop.
