The Airport Infrastructure Management business
modle has been experiencing robust growth
recently. While the interest for third party
management continues to expand, asset owners
remain concerned with the rising costs of
infrastructure maintenance and upkeep. To better
understand the role of professional aviation
management companies it is important to
understand the normal and customary roles they
undertake on behalf of airport sponsors, aviation
asset owners and commercial operators.

Airport Infrastructure Management includes the
operation and maintenance of core airport
infrastructure such as runways/taxiways,
facilities and airport administration. In
addition it can include the management of
on-airport aviation services.

These additional services may include Aviation
Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Management (MRO),
which is offered in different levels of
capability. The most basic level is line service
level maintenance, which is designed to be able
to clear Aircraft On Ground (AOG) issues. Higher
levels of capabilities include advanced
maintenance to conduct required periodic
inspections as well as engine maintenance.

another aspect of services management in which
the aviation management company provides FBO
services including aircraft handling, fueling and
hangaring on behalf the airport sponsor or
leasehold owner.
