Akt, or protein kinase B (PKB), is a Ser/Thr
protein kinase that phosphorylates a variety of
protein substrates to regulate numerous cellular
functions. Such as protein synthesis, metabolism,
transcription, cellular proliferation, cellular
differentiation, migration, and apoptosis
(programmed cell death).
