The planning of a wedding anniversary
celebration, whether its your 10th, 25th or
50th, begins with the selection of your
anniversary invitation card. You may want to add
personal touches to your invite such as your
photographs or even a special poem you both share.
Another important detail that you might be
considering is how to request your guests NOT to
bring gifts for your anniversary? Depending on
your family background and the culture in which
you were brought up in, requesting someone to NOT
bring a gift might seem like a daring concept.
However, many couples are opting for the no
gift clause because they want to break away from
etiquette.

  • If you and your spouse consider the presence of
your guests as a gift and would rather do away
with receiving presents, here are some phrasing
suggestions for politely declining gifts on your
    anniversary invitation
  • No presents please. Your attendance at our
special celebration is a cherished gift.
  • Your friendship and love is the gift we really
desire. If however, you wish to bring a gift,
please bring a food item that can be donated to
    someone in need.
  • This couple kindly requests no gifts (if the
invitation is being sent by relatives).
  • No gifts requests.

5
  • The family kindly requests that no gifts be
    presented.
  • No gifts please. Please bring a treasured
photograph that you share with the couple.
  • No gifts please. Please bring with you memories
about the couple youd like to share. (This works
very well if the couple is celebrating bigger
    anniversaries, i.e. 25th, 50th, 60th, etc.)

6
Where should you include your no gifts please
request? The most apt place to include your
request is at the bottom right or left of the
anniversary invitation card. Ensure this note is
printed/written in a smaller font than the main
invitation. At Indian Wedding Card, we have a
large selection of memorable anniversary
invitations. Please do visit us!
