Title: What are Genitial Herpes?

1
What are Genitial Herpes?
2
Introduction
Genital herpes is a very  common sexual disease
(STD) that any sexually active person can get.
Most people with the virus dont have symptoms.
Even without signs of the disease, herpes can
still be spread to sex partners. It is an (STD )
caused by two kinds of viruses. These  viruses
are called herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1)
and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2)
3
The Overblown Stigma of Genital Herpes
Today, More than 3.7 billion people under the age
of 50 -- about 67 percent of the global
population -- are infected with herpes simplex
virus type 1 (HSV-1), according to a new report
from the World Health Organization, and it is
still increasing like a harmful virus. But it was
not a big problem since the 20th Century.
4
A Big Mistake in Past
In the early 20th Century, health legislation in
the United Kingdom required compulsory treatment
for sexually transmitted diseases but did not
include genital herpes because it was not severe
enough. However, as time passed and its
population started to rise it was considered
taken as a serious issue especially in females.
5
Genital Herpes Transmission
HSV-1 is usually transmitted from person to
person by kissing. ...Vaginal sex and anal sex
most often catch HSV-2. But just like as HSV-1
can infect the genitals and cause genital herpes,
HSV-2 can move from one person's genitals to
another person's mouth, resulting in oral herpes.
, HSV-1 usually causes oral herpes, an
infection of the mouth and lips but HSV 2  lives
in the body. When it is active, it travels to the
surface of the infected area and makes copies of
itself. This is called "shedding."
6
Symptoms and Incubation Period
The incubation period of genital herpes is 3 to 7
days after which the symptoms begin to show like
small blisters that eventually break open and
produce raw, painful sores that scab and heal
over within a few weeks. The blisters and lesions
may be accompanied by flu-like symptoms with
fever and swollen lymph nodes.
7
How Is It Cured?
Unfortunately, many dangerous diseases are being
cured easily, but this disease has not a cure
even until today. So, once a person is infected
with genital herpes, the infection persists
throughout the individual's life, with the
potential for recurrent outbreaks. However, some
medications can reduce the severity and frequency
of outbreaks and treatments to manage the
symptoms.
