Samal Islands local authorities and with the
supervision of Ms. Araceli Lanoy Ayuste, Chief
Executive Officer of Punta del Sol Group of
Companies and President of Samal Island Tourism
Council in Mindanao, furthers its effort to
soundly follow the rules and regulations of the
Department of Environment and Natural Resources
(DENR). This can be found under the Executive
Order No. 192 which the agency is mandated to
implement its responsibilities for the
conversation, management, development, proper use
of the countries environment, natural resources,
and lands of the public domain.

In strengthening the unity of working together
with our local government, we encourage the local
communities and fellow resorts in Samal to
intentionally protect and preserve the beauty and
health of our environment. We shall make positive
steps to help prevent tragic incidents of
environmental mismanagement specifically with
relevance to sewage and waste disposal which
would ruin our islands pristine beach fronts and
natural environment.

In fact, Ms. Ayuste said, There are also
suppliers approaching us for sewage treatments as
well as recycling materials such as plastics and
bottles for the grounded waste materials could be
used as by-products such as construction
materials.

Furthermore, it is all about following thoroughly
the laws and policies of our government with our
proactive action to enhance a greener
environment, clean air, clean water, solid waste
management, intensified forest protection and
anti-illegal logging, enhanced biodiversity
conservation and increasing coastal and marine
ecosystem. As Ms. Ayuste added, with tourists
arriving this summer, We cant overpopulate the
island because the main product of the island is
our nature.
