Career Opportunities in the Banking Sector
  • Tellers- Tellers are the bank employees who have
the most contact with customers. They accept
deposits, cash checks and handle uncomplicated
    customer service issues.
  • Loan Officers- Banks generate money by issuing
loans, which means loan officers have a key role
to play in a bank's success.
  • Investments- Technically, banks do not employ
investment representatives. However, you do find
licensed brokers in banks because these
individuals are employees of a division of the
holding corporation that owns the bank.
  • Insurance- As with securities sales people,
insurance representatives are employees of the
bank holding corporation rather than the bank.
  • Auditors- Banking centers are regularly visited
by in-house auditors who are tasked with
detecting fraud, clerical errors and reducing the
    bank's operational losses.
