FREE PLAY ACTIVITY
To play is a childs occupation. Children are
always happy and get energized when they are
engaged in learning by exploring. At Modern
School, it is ensured that children are given
enough time to explore their creativity and this
they do during their free play time. It is that
time of the day when they are free to take up the
activity they want to engage in.

Transport Activity by Nursery
The medium used to move person or material from
one place to another is known as means of
Transport. Transportation is the most important
aspect of our life. The concept of the transport
was taught to the Nursery children was taught
through the stage activity where few of them came
dressed as different modes of transport and
explained it with the help of the props. The
teacher, then explained them about the different
means of transport like land transport, water
transport, air transport and rail transport.

Weighing Scale Activity
Mathematics can be fun and meaningful for
children through hands-on experience. Nursery
children were taught pre-mathematical concept of
heavy and light through the weighing scale.
With the help of thermocol glasses and hanger,
they madetheir own weighing scale and learned the
concept. To make the concept understandable, few
simple objects were used as weights.

• Fun in the Sun with thrill means ADVENTURE

A fun filled adventure camp was organised at the
Modern School for the students of Nursery to P1.
The camp was supervised by the teachers and the
professionals from the Rock sport. Students were
exposed to various activities like swinging
bridge, Hippity Hop Race, Laser Beam, Commando
Crawl, Magical Maze, tug of war and many more
exciting activities.

SPORTS DAY

• On the 17th of February, The Modern School
  celebrated its second Annual Sports Day Rise
  and Shine a day filled with fervour and
  excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills
  and cheers. The Chief Guest for the day was the
  Army General Bhopinder Singh, VSM and PVSM. The
  day started with the Inter-House March Past, a
  highly competitive event where the three houses
  eyed for the first place. The audience next
  witnessed various displays symbolizing
  alternative sources of energy. The displays made
  way for the highly awaited athletic events where
  competitiveness among the students soared through
  the roof.

Winning is not everything, but making the effort
to win is

• The children looked enthusiastic and excited for
  their big day. The hard work, dedication and
  commitment of our little children was commendable
  as it could be seen through a series of splendid
  field displays, involving Yoga and Taekwondo
  demonstration. Our children put up phenomenal
  show, showing a true meaning of sportsmanship.
  This was followed by fun races by the classes and
  races by the parents. The Drill along with a
  Grand Finale involving mass student participation
  left the spectators speechless and awestruck. It
  was a day fully enjoyed by one and all. All
  children were given participation certificates
  and mementos from the school.

Picnic to town park
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. To
give a joyful break from their daily routine,
students of Nursery and K.G. were taken to the
Town Park for a picnic. Under the Sun, they
enjoyed their picnic feast and had fun to the
fullest by indulging in various games. Teachers
also, got thoroughly involved with them and had
fun filled sports.
