Nucleosides

• Nucleotides are the basic building blocks of
  nucleic acids- ribonucleic acid (RNA) and
  deoxyriboneculeic acid (DNA).
• Nucleosides are glycosylamines consisting of
  nucleobase bound to a ribose or deoxyribose sugar
  via a beta-glycosidic linkage.eg.
  uridine,adenosine, guanosine, thymidine and
  inosine.
• In medicine several nucleoside analogues are used
  as antiviral or anticancer agents
