Psoriasis Different Ways To Cure It
2
Why is Psoriasis difficult to treat?
  1. Psoriasis is a very complex immunological disease
which is not fully understood. Multiple
parameters play a role in development of this
disease and this varies from patient to patient.
  2. In order to treat the patient of psoriasis, one
has to investigate all the above stated areas and
plan the treatment accordingly. Most of the
systems of medicine are not equipped to address
all the complex causes of psoriasis in totality
    to treat this disease.
  3. Homeopathy is somewhere close to treating the
disease in totality however, not always a sure
shot therapy. The homeopathic approach involves
the understanding the complete case analysis of
the patient, understanding the case in terms of
totality of symptoms and understanding the
complex mindset and emotional state of the
patient. After deeply studying the above
criteria, homeopathic medicine is selected and
given to the patient. This is called
    constitutional way of prescribing homeopathic
    medicines.
  4. Homeopathic medicines work by correcting the
depressed immune system, addressing the genetic
tendencies and boosting the natural healing
mechanism of the body. Psoriasis, even if very
severer and extensive, can find significant
recovery using homeopathy. Also, psoriasis could
be taken into a long symptoms free period or a
    remission, using homeopathy.

Treatment for Guttate Psoriasis
  • Guttate psoriasis is a type of psoriasis (skin
disease) which manifests itself as rash of red
small spots covered by fine scales on the top. It
has also been given the name of red drop or tear
drop psoriasis (from the latin word guttae for
drop). Children, teenagers and young adults below
    30 are affected more commonly.
  • Homoeopathic treatment for Guttate psoriasis
  • Along with other types of psoriasis homoeopathy
is strongly recommended for Guttate psoriasis
    treatment. Homoeopathic treatment aims at
correcting the immune dysfunction rather than
suppressing exaggerated reactions given by immune
    system.
  • Homoeopathic system believes in considering
    emotional tendencies, thought processes, stress
factors of the individual. Homoeopathic treatment
is thus found to be highly effective for cases
where patients notice the flare up due to
psychological stress or when patients trace back
the start of lesions to some emotional triggers.
  • A homoeopathic doctor thus selects the remedy
which covers pathology of psoriasis as well as
other mental or emotional characteristics of the
    patient.
  • Some of the homoeopathic remedies which promptly
cover the pathology of psoriasis are Arsenic
album, Kali Bromatum, Kali Arsnicum, Thyroidinum,
    Radium Bromide, Sulphur, Kali Sulph.

Scalp Psoriasis A Smarter and Effective way to
Care and Cure
  • Psoriasis is one of the most common auto immune
skin diseases (disease where your immunity
attacks your own body). And talking about scalp
psoriasis, it is a common variant among the
    various types of psoriasis.
  • It can vary from very mild thin flakes sometimes
mistaken as dandruff, to very severe thick flakes
which are associated with bleeding and severe
scratching. This may gradually spread over to the
forehead, behind ears or nape of neck.
  • Caring for scalp psoriasis
  • Moisturizing the scalp you can start application
of essential oils or gels (like Alovera) to
soften the skin which has become harsh and rough.
  • Be very gentle when applying any cream. Do not
rub or scrub while shampooing. Doing so will in
    turn increase the problem more.
  • Avoid application of any chemicals on the scalp
like hair dye and gels. It can irritate the skin
    further.
  • Tar shampoos and anti dandruff shampoos have been
proven to give temporary relief and may be used
with the homeopathic treatment as well.
  • Application of olive oil and intake also seems to
make healing process faster in some patients.
  •  Do not blow dry your hair as it can worsen the
dryness you are already fighting with.
  • Foods rich in Vit D and Vit E are said to help
quicken the healing process in the body

Nail Psoriasis vs Fungus How to differentiate
between the two?
  • Features to distinguish Nail psoriasis vs Fungus
  • Psoriasis of the nails can be triggered following
any trauma or injury to the nails (koebners
phenomenon) as seen in psoriasis of the skin.
  • Fungus of the nails or onchyomycosis is caused by
a fungus causing infection. There are some
factors which predispose one to contract fungal
infection of the nails. The most important factor
which favors fungus is warm climate. Fungus grows
well in a warm and humid climate. Hence it is
mostly found in people who sweat a lot,
individuals who love swimming and do not dry
their body properly (Especially the spaces
    between the toes).
  • The two can be differentiated by the appearance,
as psoriasis has a classical yellow nail pitting
(indentation) which is not found in any fungal
    infection.
  • The yellow pitting in psoriasis and hyper
pigmentation (dark discolouration) in case of
fungus can be the strong differentiating points.
  • Fungal infection usually spreads from the toes
(Tenia pedis or athletes foot), to the
inter-digital spaces followed by spread to the
nails. It starts with a small yellow dot beneath
the nail. In fungus infection there is a foul
odor with dull appearance of the nails.
  • Psoriatic nails gradually tend to get separated
from the nail bed (oncholysis) whereas the fungal
nails just get deformed. There is a chalky
appearance under the nails which lifts up the
nails which further causes pain and tenderness.
