JQuery Effects
JQuery library provides numerous techniques for
adding animation to a web page.
5
Basic Effects
  • These effects are three types, they are .hide(),
    .show(), .toggle()
  • .hide() method hides the matched elements.
  • .show() method Displays the matched elements.
  • .toggle() method Displays or hides the matched
    elements.
  • Syntax (selector).hide(speed, callback)
  • (selector).show(speed, callback)
  • (selector).toggle(speed, callback)

6
Sliding Effects
  • Slide methods slide elements up and down.
    slideDown(), slideUp(), slideToggle().
  • slideDown() method is used to slide down an
    element.
  • Syntax (selector).slideDown(speed, callback)
  • slideUp() method is used to slide up an element.
  • Syntax (selector).slideUp(speed, callback)
  • slideToggle() method toggles between the
    slideDown() and slideUp() methods.
  • Syntax (selector).slideToggle(speed,
    callback)

7
Custom Effects
  • Custom effects allow you to create effects that
are not provided "out of the box" by jQuery.
  • .animate() Perform a custom animation of a set of
    CSS properties.
  • .clearQueue() Remove from the queue all items
that have not yet been run.
  • .delay() Set a timer to delay execution of
    subsequent items in the queue.
  • .dequeue() Execute the next function on the queue
    for the matched elements.

8
Custom Effects
  1. .finish() Stop the currently-running animation,
remove all queued animations, and complete all
    animations for the matched elements.
  2. jQuery.fx.interval The rate (in milliseconds) at
    which animations fire.
  3. jQuery.fx.off Globally disable all animations.
  4. jQuery.speed Creates an object containing a set
of properties ready to be used in the definition
    of custom animations.
  5. .queue() Show or manipulate the queue of
functions to be executed on the matched elements.
  6. .stop() Stop the currently-running animation on
    the matched elements.

9
Fading Effects
  • These effects adjust the opacity of elements.
    JQuery provides 4 fading effects
  • .fadeIn() effect displays the matched elements by
    fading them to opaque.
  • .fadeOut() effect hides the matched elements by
    fading them to transparent.
  • .fadeTo() effect adjusts the opacity of the
    matched elements.
  • .fadeToggle() effect displays or hide the matched
    elements by animating their opacity.
