What is Diabetes?
  • Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases in
    which person has high glucose (blood sugar) that
    result from defects in the body's ability to
    produce or use insulin. It is also a long-term
    disease. It effects mostly the liver because of
    which it fails to respond to insulin properly.

There are four types of Diabetes
  1. Type 1 Diabetes
  2. Type 2 Diabetes
  3. Prediabetes
  4. Gestational diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes
  • In this body doesnt produce insulin.
  • 10 of cases of diabetes are of type -1 diabetes.
  • Sometimes there are no symptoms of diabetes.
  • Patient of type-1 diabetes needs daily insulin to
    survive.
  • Usually diagnosed in the childhood.

Type 2 Diabetes
  • In this case body doesnt produce enough insulin
    for proper functionality of the body.
  • 90 of case of diabetes are on type-2 diabetes.
  • It is the most common type of diabetes in people.
  • It usually occurs in adulthood.
  • Patient needs to eat healthy and be physically
    active
  • in order to control it.

Pre-Diabetes
  • Now a days a large number of people diagnosed
    with the pre-diabetes each year.
  • This is the stage where sugar level is increase
    but not enough to be type-2 diabetes.
  • It can cause for the damage to body, including
    heart.
  • As smoking might have a serious effect on
    cardiovascular health, diabetics should stop
    smoking.

Gestational Diabetes 
  • This type of diabetes affects females during
    pregnancy.
  • In this blood sugar is high during the pregnancy
    in women.
  • There is high risk of type-2 diabetes in this
    case.

Symptoms of Diabetes
  • Hunger and fatigue. 
  • Peeing more often and being thirstier.
  • High blood levels of glucose
  • Blurry vision
  • Vomiting
  • Weight loss
  • Painful urination
  • In Pre-Diabetes cases sometimes there are no
    symptoms at all
  • Diabetes type 1 and type 2 symptoms are closely
    similar, although, type 1 is often worse in
    severity

How to prevent or control Diabetes?
  • Eating healthier food
  • Being active all the time. Include exercise in
    your daily routine.
  • Taking medicine as directed by physician
  • Taking complete care of your body
  • Check feet to make sure there is no nerve damage
    or interruption of blood flow
  • Take care of teeth
  • Control blood pressure and high
  • No Smoking!
  • Check in with your doctor at least once a month
  • Have your blood sugar checked along with weight,
    blood pressure, and feelings
  • Check blood sugar levels daily by using home
    monitoring device

Which part of body is most effected by diabetes?
  • The most frequent health risk from diabetes is
    known as cardiovascular disease (diabetes can
    cause high blood pressure that then causes an
    even stronger resistance to insulin).
  • Diabetes lowers our good cholesterol and raises
    our bad cholesterol leading to an increase of
    heart disease and stroke. This can cause the
    arteries to become clogged with fat.
  • At least 65 of people with diabetes die from
    heart disease or stroke.
  • It also attacks on your nervous system.
  • It damages mostly the liver, due to which large
    amount of protein is deposited by urine.

Can diabetes be cured?
  • There is no Perfect Cure for Diabetes.
  • Medicines and various other treatments that can
    help in reducing the symptoms of diabetes are
    available easily.
  • By following a good diet and a regular exercise
    plan, you will able to use insulin minimally,
    which would further help in fighting against
    diabetes.
