Title: Dr. Paul Zarda Is Working On Diverse Areas of Technical Operations
1Dr. Paul Zarda Has Served Various Positions In
His Career
2Dr. Paul Zarda is an Orlando based professional
with expertise in finite element techniques
applied to stress and dynamic analyses within
Lockheed Martin. He received his Ph.D. in
Engineering Mechanics from Columbia University in
1974 (he was class salutatorian in 1971 at
Columbia with a 3.91/4.00 GPA). He was an
Assistant Professor in Engineering Science at
Lafayette College in Easton, Pa, from 1974
through 1976.
3He was a research analyst at the David Taylor
Naval Research and Development Center from 1976
through 1978 concentrating in the area of finite
element modeling of acoustical fluid/structure
interaction problems. He joined Westinghouse in
1978 as a Senior Engineer in the design and
analysis of nuclear steam generators. He joined
Martin Marietta in 1980.
4Dr. Paul Zarda is a resourceful professional with
many years of experience under his belt. He is
Manager of the IGD System (Interactive Gimbal
Design System), and was primarily responsible for
its initial concept. This system integrates
mechanical design, optical design, servo-control
analysis, various seeker models, rigid and
flexible body dynamics, packaging, and EO
requirements.
5- Dr. Paul Zarda is the Manager at Engineering
Methods Group. He is also a Member of the
Technical Staff assigned to Research and
Technology in Technical Operations. He is also
Program Manager of the Web-based Design
Environment contract with the Wright Patterson
Air Force Base (WPAFB). Besides this, he is also
working as the Program Manager of the Supersonic
Hypersonic Vehicle Design contract with WPAFB.
6- Dr. Zarda is also an Adjunct Professor at UCF,
where he holds the title of Research Professor of
Mechanical Engineering in the Department of
Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering.
