Layers of Fear Inheritance Gameplay Walkthrough La
yers of Fear Inheritance is a kind of remake from
the original, kind of. An extension if you will
of the original game. And Layers of Fear
Inheritance DLC provides that 2nd go at
intriguing plots and scary surprises. But Bloober
developers don't really deliver on both. Layers
of Fear used every opportunity they could to
provide a scary and frightening experience for
the players. But LOF Inheritance has its fair
share of scares and loud scary noises from dogs
barking close to doors seemingly slamming shut on
their own. All of which fill you with a sense of
terror.
This time round though, it seems there is a more
fallible storyline that will interest you. And
feel you with a sense of dread and remorse and
something or a innate sense of madness. While the
game's developers have ended the father and
mother's story to a close. Leaving you to wonder
what happened to their daughter. You are once
again playing in the insanely scary halls of the
manor house. Taking up the role of a woman who is
not new to the insanity that ripped apart her
family home and robbed her of her childhood.
The game is the same as before in that you'll be
interacting with things using your keyboard
and mouse. Such as opening doors and drawers. All
to see what's on the other side. All in the quest
to find out if the painter's daughter will
forgive her dad for pouring himself into his work
and not

her. You'll be revisiting the same areas where
previous trauma abounded. And finding out if
the estate is haunted by a ghost or the estate is
the ghost!
The mansion itself is overridden by years of
mould, rot and disease. You'll be mostly
going through the narrations with flashback
scenes. And if you're too scared to check out the
basement, you can meander around the office or
the bedrooms. And once you start searching, your
memories start coming back with the more than you
find. Such as the closet filled with mouse traps
which takes you back to a scene of the old days.
Picture the scene, you're crawling around in your
hiding space and you can hear the voice of your
father outside who thinks that rats are taking up
a permanent residence in the old mansion. As he
proceeds toward your door, each footstep seems to
get louder and more angrier with each step.
Should you lock the door and hide from his
massive anger or should he find you playing in
an area that is far from safe for kids to play
in? Neither paints a very good picture of a man
not known for his gentle and compassionate side.
There are many scenes in Layers of Fear
Inheritance that play out differently depending
on what you do. And in the DLC you can unlock
different endings depending on what you did in
the game. If you're staring at a photo for too
long a time or up and leg it from that spooky
spectre and you might just find that it's turned
into some portrait of death before you even
realize.
You won't find silliness like that though. You
wont be able to get rid of the feeling that
you've missed out on some details and you'll have
to build up the daughter's own recreation of her

wayward childhood. Like when creating a canvas to
paint on and choosing the right brushes for the
artwork. Each invoking a response and bringing
back some distant memories.
Knowing how her dad was infamous for his evil
tirade of abuse and outbursts. Are you able
to cover it up with your own love for him? You'll
face harsh criticism while painting the picture.
And while she hopes her father meant well. The
flashbacks take you to a place where things are
twisted beyond what you or I might call "normal".
The girl soon realizing that her father didn't
want a little girl but rather someone to follow
in his footsteps.
But for all of this, these scenes do matter and
there is a narrative to them all. It won't
really matter what route you take in the mansion,
you'll still find the artist is a miserable sod
and tragic excuse for a father let alone a human
being. And this doesn't help come the time you
have to paint his portrait and not make any
mistakes lest you invoke his anger. Playing this
for the second time right, some of these scenes
make a little more sense but the paint and crayon
scenario didn't play out properly in my mind
until I switched to the alternative option and
saw the events fold out in having to create a
portrait of your father and make sure to get all
the colors right.
Layers of Fear Inheritance tries to make you jump
out of your seat scared but it does it too many
times. When you open a door for example a dog
jumps out out you. Walking down a hall in
the mansion and you hear something coming up
behind you or once again, jump out in front of
you. It's like waiting for someone to reach out
to the camera. You are half expecting a scare in
every scene and the game developers have
seemingly over tried to make them happen.

But the game developers at Bloober don't have to
try and scare you to make you have that scary
feeling. Rather it relies on it's horribly
horrifying images to install that within you.
Preying on your own imagination. What you see is
a world unfold in the eyes of the daughter.
But you know what really gets me? Is the teasing
part. Trying to tease me into being scared. The
paranoia that it builds up by the poltergeist
that can do you harm whenever it sees fit. It
might just snap your neck too if you made it
cross, and the chills that come about provide a
real sinister atmosphere. Plus the setting
inspires fear and tension and you can't go very
long without some kind of scary thing happening
that gives you goosebumps!
